A Hand Up is always better than a Hand Out
Self Sufficiency built the Life we enjoy now
I’ve studied many corporations and their history with their employees. They’ve exchanged a salary for the labor of their employees for years, decades, and even centuries. They were doing their part of the social contract for it all to succeed. It’s when everyone starts to throw away those principles that people rebel. They hardly uses pitchforks and torches nowadays. No, today they use Social Media to complain and boycott those companies and they use labor strikes to force the companies to remember a company’s duty to its employees.
But when a company really cares about their employees and the employees like working there because they are treated fairly, then everyone wins. But management is imperfect and the responsibility to correct the ship usually falls on the same misguided persons who are in charge. Short term solutions win out, while people who are laid off, well, don’t win at all.
It’s time to be self sufficient in all that you do. No one is coming to save you, no one is coming to give you a handout out. THe best you can do is hope for a hand up, an opportunity to make something of yourself. Those that can reinvent themselves after a fallout are the one who will win.
