Allow Others to find the Solutions to their Own Problems
They'll 100% be more successful than you telling them what to do
“Solving a problem simply means representing it so as to make the solution transparent”
We have a tendency to solve others people’s problems and not our own. We inherently see no risk to ourselves when we offer advice or help to someone else. This means that the fear of choosing the wrong answer is there for us when it concerns other people.
So that’s why it’s imperative to help other people solve their problems by helping them come up with their own solutions. That’s the only way you’ll actually solve their problem, because if it’s their idea first, they have much more resolve to actually implement the solution.
It’s like telling a kid to clean their room. They know their room is dirty, they know you don't like the room being dirty, but do they really care enough to clean it up? Obviously not, and nagging them may get them to do it, but it won’t be for themselves, they’ll do just enough to get you to stop yelling at them.
Now think on this: Isn’t this exactly how all office work ends up?
