“Successful people do daily what unsuccessful people do occasionally. They practice daily disciplines. They implement systems for their personal growth. They make it a habit to maintain a positive attitude.” -John C. Maxwell (Good Leaders Ask Great Questions)
Everything you do has a consequence. Depending on what you’re actually doing, that consequence could be good, bad or heck even neutral. But when you’re consistent in the praise of others, if your consistent in having an attitude for growth, if your consistent in getting the job done when it gets hard, the consequence of those actions will most likely be a reward to you.
People will then follow you. People will like you, People will want to work with and for you. You’re influence will increase, and it’s not just some fleeting feeling they will feel, they will bleed for you, they will go to bat for you. You made them feel seen, and they will in turn reward you with their loyalty. That’s what being a leader is all about. It’s not to gain some false sense of superiority over others, it’s to serve them to the best of your ability.
