📣 Curious Quotes from the Author

“High centrality participants tended to ask ten to twenty times as many questions as other participants.”

“Whenever someone said something emotional—even when they didn’t realize their emotions were on display—Felix had reciprocated by voicing feelings of his own. All those small choices they had made, he explained, had created an atmosphere of trust.”

“To communicate with someone, we must connect with them. When we absorb what someone is saying, and they comprehend what we say, it’s because our brains have, to some degree, aligned.”

📚 Cognition of the Book’s Big Idea:

Mastering practical, emotional, and social talks is essential for transforming your interactions into meaningful relationships. You can improve your communication skills by following the four guidelines of learning conversations: pay attention to the sort of talk, share goals, inquire about feelings, and explore identity. Active listening, asking open-ended questions, and sharing personal stories will also help you make more genuine connections.

As you incorporate these methods into your interactions, keep in mind that each interaction has the potential to transform you into a supercommunicator and connect you more intimately with the world around you.

🛠️Fixing the Tech Industry

Communication has always been a hard thing for us as Tech Professionals. We prefer Digital, Asynchronous communication than face to face. This is the due to the fact we have a hard time with emotions, and dealing with people gets way more complicated than we think its going to be. Computers are logical, it’s easy to follow through it’s logic to fix a problem with a system. But Humans are way more messy, there’s no easy way to “fix” a Human. Tact, Empathy and Understanding must be perceived at all times if you are to be a good communciator.
