Sometimes focusing on a goal requires turning down distraction-causing activities. Include all the components of a strong rejection when you say no. Accept the request. Recognize that for now, other things are more important to you. Refuse the request with clarity. Additionally, let them know that you routinely turn down any inquiries of such nature.
