“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” -Victor E. Frankl (Man’s Search for Meaning)
Many times when we are faced with an impossible situation, we shut down. We just, stop. These situations cause us to not even try to fix thing. It could be you’re locked in a crappy job but you can’t quit because you got a mortgage and a car loan and the job really isn’t THAT bad.
This relates to the frog in the boiling pot of water fable. It’s nice when it’s warm and comfy, but don’t stay too long or you’ll get cooked. If we can’t control our situation, we need to focus on what we can control, and that’s ALWAYS how we view ourselves, our attitude, and how we react to situations.
So if you’re stuck, the best thing to do is to try and improve yourself. You’ll soon find out by simply doing that, you can improve situation immensely.
