“Fear is a Mile Wide but an Inch Deep” -Leila Hormozi
I think about this quote a lot. Everyday I’m fearful of something. Having to do a task, experiencing loneliness, not reaching my goals, financial hiccups. There’s a lot out there to fear. But when I take a step past those fears, I realize that they were kind of silly and unfounded. It’s just my brain trying to be an overprotective friend, trying to get me to not experience new things or changes because it wants to keep me safe.
“A ship in a harbor is safe, but that’s not what a ship is built for.” -Grace Hopper
If we let fear run our lives and make our decisions for us, we will never reach our true potential. The opposite of fear is faith, faith that you can what you set your mind too. The feeling of fear and faith overcome one another. You can’t feel both at the same time, just like if there’s light, it can’t be truly dark.
So step into that abyss, turns out you’ll hardly get your shoes wet.
