AI is coming for our Jobs. Every last one of them. The Wall-E Eternal Gluttonous Space Cruise might be our future real soon! Everything Human about earth will be gone as we bow to our Mechanical Overlords.
Or…maybe as Humans, we won’t forget our natural raw human needs as quickly as all the Doomsayers think we will.
I remember when Server Virtualization started to really become a thing. Remote Management capabilities meant that you didn’t need your own onsite IT to take care of your mail server or file server. You can just rent space at a datacenter for a fraction of the cost and use their repair services when needed. The Cloud Scaled that to the monstrosity it is today, as SAAS companies scaled to the moon, on site software servers became a thing of the past. Not everyone lost their jobs, they just had to train in cloud management rather than onsite server management. Technology will keep evolving, but so will we as we go out to face the many more challenges that we will face in our Tech Careers. Don’t mistake your knowledge of a very specific Technology as a fishing pond you can fish in the rest of your life.
Try all the ponds, absorb as much as you can, our brains our built like sponges. Armed with our baseline knowledge of Tech, our jobs will be assure when everyone forgets how to code because AI did it better anyways, and we’ll be building servers from scratch in a MadMax type situation when AI decided to finally take over the Planet.
2 Ideas from Me
Give me an AI that I tell my health stats too and I give my diet and exercise routine and helps me make adjustments to reach whatever my weight or health goal is.
Give me an AI that predicts what will happen to my car at certain intervals of mileage driven and help me get the mechanics too look out for or check it next time I’m in the shop and not have it happen just as I leave for my road trip.
3 Quotes form Others
"Technology frightens me to death. It’s designed by engineers to impress other engineers. And they always come with instruction booklets that are written by engineers for other engineers — which is why almost no technology ever works."
-John Cleese
“The Future belongs to those who can simplify complex technology”
-Reed Hastings
“Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. Unfortunately, it might also be the last, unless we learn how to avoid the risks.”
- Stephen Hawking
