Learning new skills are important in today’s Career Landscape. Those that coast on their credentials will be left behind, laid off and forgotten. Think about it, how many of you have had a boss who you don’t look up to because they have barely one skillset they’ve been relying on for 30 Years. They rely on their underlings to be tech savvy or skilled enough to solve all their problems. You definitely don’t want to become them.
Be the leader you want to be right now. The more you dedicate yourself now to becoming a leader, the more prepared you’ll be to fulfill that role when the opportunity comes. Take on the hard projects no one else will do, prove yourself that you’re willing to do what no one else will.
Always ask for feedback, you’d be surprised how little people actually do this and how rare it is to see as a leader in their underlings. The simple act of seeking feedback shows that you are capable of growth, so more opportunities to grow will come at you in return.
Until Tomorrow,
