“That individuals who consider themselves to be engaged at work are twice as productive, stay five times longer in their job, are six times more energized and take 10 times fewer sick days than those who are not.” -Dan Pontefract (The Purpose Effect)
We all need Work. Our brains may tell us to be lazy and conserve energy, but it also will defintely let’s us know when we are hungry and we haven’t eaten anything. Our brain plays tricks on us most of the time. It want’s us to do the least amount of work for the most amount of reward (or pay). Any and all strategies can be dumbed down to this one concept.
But in order for us to grow and keep our minds engaged, we need a challenge. Sometimes that challenge might seem insurmountable, but it’s not about winning the challenge, it’s about what the challenge brings us, and that’s purpose, the real work we need to be doing and fulfilling.
