I Always liked talking to People who did interesting things
Because most people are boring, honestly
Whenever I meet someone new, I always think to myself “I bet they are the best in the world at something” and I try to find out what that is. My questions towards them are always geared toward finding it out. I may come off a little strong or obsessive sometimes trying to find it, but I feel it’s important to help bring that to the surface more often for other people.
People tend to hide their talents and superpowers deep down. They don’t want to express them because, well, it could be many reasons. Fear, Anxiety, Impostor Syndrome, Trauma, Abuse, the excuses could be endless. If I focus on their faults, that usually is not a good start to our relationship. So I find that focusing on the hidden potential of a person is the kindest act I can give them. Not many are comfortable trying to be that for other people.
This one act has served me well over the years. Try it and see if it helps you.
Until Tomorrow,
Jason Ziebarth
