Learn from your Weakness, But Play to your Strengths
But most of all, Fight for what you're owed
“When you are honest and humble about your weaknesses, you will be more comfortable in your own skin. When you use your weaknesses to connect with others, love in your life will grow. And finally—finally—you will be able to relax without worrying about being exposed as less than people think you are.” -Arthur C. Brooks (From Strength to Strength)
Weaknesses are a funny thing. We are all flawed individuals, yet we are directly reviewed on how well we reach perfection in our tasks. Some of us might be able to do our work almost perfectly. But what happens when we don’t want to do our work, no matter how good we are at it?
We break down. Our motivation to do a good job disappears, we “Quiet Quit”. If the point of experiencing weakness is to learn, then do we experience boredom in our strengths? No, we usually love what we’re great at, it when others take advantage of that and not give us our rightful dues that we tend to be mad and protest and unionize and generally start to cause all sorts of trouble.
So learn from your weaknesses, play to your strengths and fight for what you are owed.
