We are surprisingly nice to people who compliment us
People normally don’t get a lot of praise in their daily lives. No one tells them “Job well done”, or “You’re a very interesting person” most days. It’s very easy to be agreeable with others, that’s not what this is. Making a person feel like their worth something, that’s the secret to winning over friends and generating real influence.
All you have to do is try to find one thing they are good at, and compliment them on it. They’ll accept that as a true compliment because more than likely they’ll know that part of themselves, but not many people take the time to figure that out.
