1 Story from Experience
I woke up on Monday feeling a little off. I went down to eat breakfast and felt a little clammy and then really weak. I told my wife something’s not right, and I decided to go get myself checked out at the Hospital. After various Tests in the Emergency room, I found out my heart was in A-Fib for reasons unknown. Arterial Fibrillation is when your heart starts to beat so erratically it greatly increases the risk of having a stroke. They had to electroshock me back into rhythm. Luckily things got better real fast after that. I was able to go home with some medications that day.
We all have had some interaction with sickness and death. It’s just part of life and we never know if today will be our last. Experiences like these tend to reset priorities, goals and even an entire life direction. If you were to die tomorrow, most likely they’d have your position at work filled within a couple weeks. It’s nothing personal, it’s just business, life will go on. So why are you working so hard to please a company that would forget about you that fast? I’m not saying go quit your job today and move to Nepal to look for the meaning of life, all I’m saying is do something for yourself that you can be proud of outside of your 9-5. Your Job Title is not your life, at least it shouldn’t be. People will remember you for how you treat other people and the effect you had in their lives, not how many times you helped reset someone’s password.
For me though, I’ve always tried to live my life helping people. That part of me hasn’t changed even through a life and death experience like this one. Maybe you won’t change until you had an experience like this one. But I’m telling you from experience. Life is Short, live like you have no tomorrow, because one day, you won’t.
2 Ideas from Me
People Networking should be a lot easier than it is, especially for people of our personality type. The only type of networking that works for us tends to be anything in a gaming format. I just want to find my people, hopefully some of you reading this can become part of my people. We just need to bridge the gap on how to help our Professional Network grow, as that tends to grant us the best life changing opportunities we tend to miss out on because of how reserved we normally are. I’m thinking on how to overcome this…stay tuned.
I feel like a lot of startups are just creating placeholder businesses that run on human employment initially just to secretly hope they can be profitable by replacing Humans with AI and/or drones. When Doordash can spend .0005 cents on a electrical charge for a drone to deliver someone’s meal, they can suddenly become profitable, and as bonus, the Drone will never steal a customers food…
