1 Story from Experience
Everyday we wake up, we usually have something to do. Usually if we work for someone else, our time is not our own. We must go and do X for 8 hours a day to receive Y wages so we can survive another day to do it all over again. So where does the fulfillment come in? Do you find it in your work? Helping your friends? Taking care of your family?
Stories are how most of us make sense of the world. We hear and tell stories, basically that’s it. There something very powerful in a great storyteller. It’s the ability to communicate pretty much every worthy trait and experience to others who’ve never been through that experience. Everyday we tell stories, some more exciting than others. We tell what we ate for breakfast, how are sales call went, how boring that last meeting was to all who ask.
In search of our buried treasure (or Salary because we aren’t pirates") we realize that money will come and it will go, and when you die you can’t take it with you, but the Stories with the people you’ve met along they way, those can endure for centuries in books and now the internet. Even in the minds of those that pass on after you, they will hold on to those stories in their memory, and will remember them fondly for the rest of their lives. Therefore I’d ask you to make stories through experiences with others, and remember, maybe it wasn’t about the Treasured Paycheck, maybe it was more about the friends we met along the way.
2 Ideas from Me
I think alot, on a lot of different topics. I’m an Ideator, I connect dots and don’t always care about crosses my T’s. I couldn’t exist without my notebook. Pen to paper is so much better to flow my thoughts onto a page, even if most of my life I live in a Digital realm, most of you are like me and can relate. So my idea is a Notebook that copies itself to the cloud. For now though, I’d probably just have to take a picture of each page with my phone.
Mobile Ordering should be a thing everywhere, no one wants to sit down and wait 20 minutes till the food is ready, unless its like a business lunch of something.
3 quotes from Others
“The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention…. A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words.” ~ Rachel Naomi Remen
“Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.”
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” ~ Dr Brené Brown
