I see a lot of people online who are miserable. You can tell that they think very little of themselves and their working lives. They complain about everything, they hate their lot in life and they make everything miserable for everyone else.
If I were to give that someone some advice, it would be to try and mentor someone. Thinking outside yourself and your needs is surprisingly therapeutic. I’m not sure why more people don’t do it. In answering the problems that others might have, you end up solving your own problems. You learn what it takes to interact with other people, how to be empathetic towards other people, which in turns gives you power to empathetic about yourself and your shortcomings.
So Mentor someone today, make as small a step as possible to that goal. You won’t regret it.
