Rosie Spinkss sent out a new issue of her newsletter today on the topic of Modern Day Friendship.
It’s a very good analysis of something I’ve been experiencing and thinking a lot about lately, a Digital Friendship Paradox if you will.
Most of my current friendship and connections have been made solely online. While they have helped me when I needed them the most, the sheer amount of convenience never satisfied my need for real life friendly interactions.
When you tire of your friends, as introverts often do, an most of your interactions are strictly online, you can log off or refuse to text back for awhile and that’s that. If your interactions are mostly in the real world, there’s more nuance and etiquette required.
How would you rate your online and real life friendships? How can you make both better and perhaps if necessary more balanced?
