Employees feel successful when they complete their tasks and get rewarded for it. It is not enough for a Boss to pay Salaries and expect their Employees to be fulfilled. They need Thank You’s, they need recognition, they need to feel like they are part of something.

Alas, what most Employees feel about their work is more along the lines of trying to put out the dumpster fire every morning when they get in. Companies are badly run, too much bureaucracy crowds in and they always rely on their employees to fix the mistakes of its leaders.

The only way to truly show you care about your Employees is to take care of them, own the bad when it happens and try to make it up to them for dropping the ball. Unfortunately, the most common thing is to do layoffs, which deepens the negative feelings even more, for the people who both survived and didn’t survive the layoffs.

So if you care, start by owning the bad and rewarding the good within your organization. All else is useless.
