Pick the Values you Value with Intention
"If you stand for nothing, Burr, what will you fall for?"
There’s a Hidden Cost when the Values you hold dear are automatically dealt to you and accepted by you: You lose Perspective. Have you ever been surprised by an act of kindness from someone you thought you’d receive nothing but problems from?
People can surprise you, people can even change, you especially can change. But usually the Values you hold don’t change. They may morph a bit or you may switch them priority of someone of them, but overall, we like what we like, we respect what we respect and we live our life in congruence with our values.
That’s why sometimes we need to take a good look at ourselves and see if our Values are serving us well. But more important, we need to make sure that we stick by them.
Integrity is the value we place on ourselves.
“It's easier to hold your principles 100 percent of the time than it is to hold them 98 percent of the time” -Clayton M. Christensen
