There's no such thing as Laziness
You probably just need a break from all the BS you've been through
When I was a kid, I was called lazy fairly frequently. I relent being an overweight kid helped confirm that stereotype to anyone who looked at me, but what they didn’t know was how lazy my mind wasn’t. My brain was on a thinking binge 24/7. Like literally, if I was awake I was thinking about Problems to be solved, Theories to craft, and what people thought of me. My brain was always turned up to 11.
Being an Overweight kid, I didn’t like moving a lot like most people with my brain, sports were pretty much meh to me. I did them, sure, but I relied on my sheer bulk to be useful in defensive positions in soccer or being able to hit a homer every time I went up to bat in minor league. I never considered myself lazy, I just didn’t like being forced to do something I didn’t want to do, especially if I found it boring.
This would become a problem in my later years, you might call it my fatal flaw…
I can’t stand being Bored.
We train most of our lives to complete boring tasks day in day out for 50+ years so we don’t starve and maybe keep roof over our head. We sell things that we know will have minimal impact in people’s lives, we manage people to do the work we don’t want to do, and we get mad when the fast food restaurant messes up our order because the high school kid couldn’t be bothered to do it right cause he’s just as bored as the rest of us. We hate boredom, however Corporations LOVE IT! They love predictability. They crave it, they plan everything around it, quarterly earnings are their nirvana if they were came within their forecast.
It’s a constant stress ball to do work you don’t want to do but have to or you’ll get fired. My whole life I would spend hours delving into topics and communities I found interesting, to which my possibilities exploded when the Internet came to be. You’ll never be bored on the Internet!
I was anything but lazy when it involved something I was interested in. It seems now we can be too overstimulated with Social Media, especially with the “Short Form Content for Goldfish” algorithms being forced down our throats.
Being Lazy is just being Disinterested about something. It is not a testament to the detriment of your character, or a problem you need to solve. Telling someone that they’re lazy is just a subversive method to make someone do what you want them to do without regard for their hidden genius or interests.
Life on this Earth means having to do things you are disinterested in, but that is not ALL there is to life. Living your life means spending the majority of your time doing what you want, what you feel in the core of your soul needs to be explored and experienced, at the very least spending as much time on yourself and your interests as you do helping achieve the will of others.
