Community is not a thing of the past. We may not all go to Town Hall meetings anymore, or play little league with our friends, but it’s now just as important as ever to play a part in your community.
It doesn’t matter what community it is, as long as you enjoy being there. Ideally the community should reflect your values and be a fun place to hang out in, but once you do find a community you enjoy, the most important part is your participation. Community is not a passive feeling you can conjure up anytime you want. The only way for you to get something real out of your community is to be a part of one, and welcome others to do the same.
The more you participate, engage and help your community, the more you’ll get out of it. You’ll make more meaningful relationships and those will compound over time to help you when you need them the most.
Until Tomorrow,
