“Something wonderful begins to happen with the simple realization that life, like an automobile, is driven from the inside out, not the other way around. As you focus more on becoming more peaceful with where you are, rather than focusing on where you would rather be, you begin to find peace right now, in the present. Then, as you move around, try new things, and meet new people, you carry that sense of inner peace with you. It's absolutely true that, "Wherever you go, there you are.” -Richard Carlson (Don't Sweat the Small Stuff and It's All Small Stuff)
Many people will tell you it’s impossible to get into the best places and the best networks and the best positions of authority. But when you have an individual who is willing to do whatever it takes to belong, it’s hard to ignore them. If you are struggling at work or in your social circles, the best advice I have for you is to do things for other people. Get people to like you, get people to reciprocate with you because you did something for them first.
It comes off as a much more Human Relationship when they feel like they want to give back rather than if they “have” to. So start that Win/Win Scenario by reaching out to whoever you know needs it, and start collecting the good will you deserve.
