Why Taking Good Notes is a Cheat Code

Most people don’t understand why taking notes is important. It probably stems from their high school education, being forced to take notes on something you absolutely have no interest in learning so you can take a test you have no interest in taking, it’s debilitating to say the least.

It’s an entirely different world when you take notes about things you like learning about. You get really good at it really fast, all because the subject is enjoyable and your brain rewards you with dopamine for learning new things and taking the time to write them down allows for even more retention.

So anytime you want to learn something, make sure as you’re reading a book or watching a youtube video, write down the main topics of the material and then ask yourself, what sounds like the most interesting pieces of knowledge, and try and remember that for future recall. Because if you can’t use your newly acquired knowledge somewhere soon, your brain is going to eject it pretty quick.
