Many times I have a task to complete, I usually get frustrated with it halfway through. I like doing things on my own, I feel like I could do a better job and that having other people around will slow me down.
What actually happens is that I overthink everything because I have no one to balance my crazy ideas or talk me through potential scenarios where my plans might go wrong.
Doing things on your own lead to selfishness. They make you think you and your ideas are more important than they are. The old adage stays true: “Two Heads are better than one”.
If you are having a particularly hard time doing something you need to get done, ask someone for advice. They might be able to help you get you out of your own brain and you might just even ace the project.
So have you’re default mode be to ask for help, and involve others in your thinking. They’ll will instantly think they can trust you because you trusted them enough to ask for their opinion. In the end, we all just want to be helpful and develop human connection.
Until Tomorrow,
